Joseph GAHAMA is a Professor of History with an experience of 35 years in the higher education. He has occupied important posts of responsibilities at University of Rwanda- College of Education (Dean, Director of Research, and Head of Department). A visiting professor in numerous African and European universities, he is the author of multiple books, articles, chapter of edited books in the history and the political life of the African Great Lakes region, particularly Rwanda and Burundi. He is a member of several academic, social and cultural organizations. He has participated and presented papers in over 80 international and national seminars and conferences. He has served as a consultant to UNDP, UNESCO, UNICEF, African Union, Rwandan and Burundian Governments.
He has been appointed Vice- Chancellor of the East African University Rwanda on 1st September, 2016.
